When a bulk list is useful
- Testing sign-up flows. Developers and testers need many different addresses to check registration, welcome emails and password resets.
- Separating sign-ups. Using a different address on each site shows you which service shares or leaks your address.
- Trials and promotions. Keep offers and newsletters away from your personal inbox.
Good habits
- Follow the terms of each website. Many services limit accounts per person, and generated addresses do not change those rules.
- Do not use generated addresses for spam, fraud or abuse.
- Keep a note of which address you used where. Messages are deleted after 30 days.
- For an account you want to keep, use a permanent address or a Gmail dot or plus alias that lands in your own inbox.
